Alumni Update - James Duvcevski

1 December 2022

As we follow the progress of the Socceroos in Qatar at the 2022 World Cup, we're particularly proud of Emmanuel College alumnus James Duvcevski (Class of 2008), who is the General Manager of the Australian Men's National Team. In this role he plays an integral part in strategic and operational activities, with a particular focus on the management of the high-performance environment around the Socceroos.

Over the years, his wealth of football experience has led James to be involved with management of the Men’s Team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and Youth National Teams within the Asian Football Confederation and FIFA competitions.

James showed a great talent for football as a schoolboy, and was a member of the team that won three ACC premierships in four years, and became the intermediate Victorian state champions in 2006.

He represented Victoria several times in national competitions, including in 2004 when he captained the Victorian Metro U/14 soccer team at the Friendship Games to an undefeated victory. James also played on the Australian School Boys team on a tour of the UK and Ireland in January 2008, where he started in all international matches, and was man of the match against Wales. James was selected as a defender for the 2008 ACC Soccer team of the Year.

Since leaving Emmanuel College James has completed a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Science (Finance) and Master of Sports Management, studying in Australia and the USA. As a professional footballer, he played for Midland Odessa Sockers in Texas.

Emmanuel College is proud of James' achievements, and we wish him and the Socceroos the best for the remainder of this history-making time for Australian Sport.
