Marwan El-Houli (Year 12, SPC) was recently selected to be a part of the Bachar Houli Senior Academy. This high-performance football talent program is for emerging junior male players aged between 12 and 18 who come from an Islamic background.

The week-long Academy consisted of football development, identity sessions, as well as leadership building. Bachar Houli (2x premiership player and All Australian Richmond defender), Adam Saad (Essendon defender) and Ahmed Saad (former St Kilda AFL player) were present throughout the camp.

At the end of the week voting was conducted by each player based on who they thought demonstrated the best leadership throughout the camp. Marwan was lucky enough to win this award: The Bachar Houli Medal.

As a result of this award Bachar Houli becomes Marwan's mentor. Marwan was also selected to go on the International Leadership Camp held in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where he completed the Richmond's high intensity pre-season program which also focused on leadership and identity.
