b'Principals WelcomeDear parents and students,I extend a very warm welcome to you as a member of your family begins their Emmanuel College journey as a Year 7 student in 2024. Beginning secondary school is an exciting time. The number of subjects and extra-curricular opportunities on offer are extensive, and details are provided in this handbook, so you have easy access to important background information.Emmanuel College is a very proud College with a long history. We are guided by our Marianist heritage, which you can also read about in this handbook. We are most proud of our students, who live out daily the core values of our College, in how they treat others within the community, how they come to school prepared to learn, and how they work with their fellow students and with their teachers to do their very best. Our teachers will set high expectations, as we want our students to be successful, and to feel challenged along the learning journey at Emmanuel College. We seek for our students to show pride in being Emmanuel students in how they represent the College every day, especially in how they wear the College uniform. This is fully explained in this handbook. Why is uniform important? Uniform creates a sense of unity for students and builds commitment to our school, and our sense of community. This handbook clearly outlines the many ways that the College will communicate with families to consistently keep the relationship between the school, home, and the student active. There are many exciting opportunities to experience in 2024, and I wish each new Year 7 all the very best, and I look forward to working withyou as you begin your time at Emmanuel College.
